Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

Quantity Surveyor . Barbados . Commercial and high end luxury residential projects . Up to USD$7,500 / month net.

Thatcher Associates is a specialist recruitment consultancy. On behalf of our client - a well respected main contractor based on the island of Barbados in the Caribbean - we are supporting them in the search for two Quantity Surveyors.

My client is a leading construction firm specializing in the construction of high-quality villas and residential schemes, and commercial construction projects. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, they have established a reputation for delivering top-notch projects that exceed their clients' expectations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following:

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, ideally with a focus on residential and commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of quantity surveying techniques, cost estimation, and project budgeting.
Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools for quantity surveying.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Attention to detail and analytical mindset to ensure accuracy in cost calculations and project monitoring.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with measurement, bills of quantity and construction contracts.

A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying.

Responsibilities:

Tender documentation.
Commercial management of contracts assigned to you (variations, turnover forecasts, CVRs, budgets, final accounts).
Subcontractor financial management and payment.
Claims.
Liaison with client's QS and PM team.

Salary

The available salary is up to US$7,500 NET per month / US$90,000 annually**
**Equivalent to GBP£110,000 Gross salary in the UK
Work permit is paid for.
Round trip airfare paid.
Two year renewable contract.
A car is provided.
Accommodation must be paid for locally by the employee. (Budget USD$800 / month for a 1 bed apartment).
