About the Role



As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in the commercial success of projects from pre-construction through to final account. You'll be joining a commercially savvy, collaborative team and reporting directly to the Commercial Manager depending on the size of the scheme.



Your focus? Driving value, protecting margins, and ensuring robust commercial controls across the lifecycle of the project.



Key Responsibilities:



Lead the commercial function on-site, ensuring contract and cost control measures are effectively applied



Manage subcontract procurement, payment schedules, variations, and final accounts



Provide accurate forecasting and cost/value reconciliation on a monthly basis



Ensure strong contract administration in line with NEC/JCT or bespoke forms



Work closely with project teams, design managers, planners, and external consultants



Mentor and support junior QS staff, ensuring high standards across the board



Identify commercial risks and opportunities and advise on mitigation strategies



What We're Looking For:



Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with at least 2 years in a senior capacity



Proven track record working on large-scale construction projects (residential, commercial, or civil)



Strong understanding of contract law and standard forms (NEC, JCT, etc.)



Confident communicator and negotiator with both internal and external stakeholders



Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or equivalent)



RICS or equivalent chartership is highly desirable, but not essential
