He angitūtanga | About the role As a Senior Regional Health and Safety Advisor you'll be supporting operational teams within your geographical region, as well as some nationally distributed teams. You will provide expert technical advice to coach Directors and Managers to fulfil their health and safety responsibilities, enabling staff to uphold safe behaviours and enhance a proactive safety culture. Your ability to collaborate, influence and work cohesively with others in the wider Health and Safety Team (injury management, and occupational health disciplines) will be key to your success in delivering well-rounded outputs. In this role you will also contribute to the maintenance of a safe and healthy work environment by supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of workplace health and safety systems and processes. This is a regional role, covering the DOC lower, eastern and central North Island regions. The location for the role can be flexible but must be within the region and proximate to a DOC office. There will be travel involved across the regions. The role will also involve leading the ongoing development and implementation of DOC's occupational health system. You will need to be familiar with best practice occupational health systems and processes and have experience in organisation system design and implementation. Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience required * Experienced Occupational Health and Safety practitioner * Experience developing, implementing and monitoring occupational health systems within a medium-large, complex or high-risk workplace. * Proven collaborative approach, including experience influencing others to achieve positive health and safety outcomes. * Flexible and adaptable in adjusting your style to work effectively with different people. * Demonstrated experience in problem solving and delivery of practical solutions * Experience in working well under pressure, as there will be times when the workload is fast-paced and highly varied. * It is preferable, that you are a member of a professional body such as NZISM, and hold a relevant Occupational Health and Safety qualification. The salary range for this position is $92,450 and $116,985, with the starting salary negotiated with the successful candidate based on the level of relevant skills and experience they bring to the role.
