Senior RF Design Engineer\n\nLocation: Northamptonshire, UK\n\nSalary: £60,000 - £65,000\n\nType: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours/week)\n\nAbout\n\nLynx is representing a leading technology company specialising in advanced systems and solutions for defence and aviation markets. Their engineering team is dedicated to designing and developing world-class products for mission-critical applications.\n\nThe Role\n\nWe're seeking a Senior RF Design Engineer to join the RF and Hardware group, working on both new product development and sustaining existing products across a range of data links and RF systems. You'll be involved in the full product lifecycle from requirements through to support.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Lead RF system architecture and design initiatives\n\n * Perform RF simulation and analysis\n\n * Create schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools\n\n * Scope new systems and technologies for feasibility and product design\n\n * Manage external design houses and resources as needed\n\n * Provide technical support for production and manufacturing\n\n * Lead design reviews and verification processes, mentor junior engineers\n\n * Contribute to department processes and documentation\n\nRequired Experience & Skills\n\nMinimum 5 years' experience in RF design, expertise in several of the following areas:\n\n * Design of linear high power wide band RF amplifiers up to 200W (GaN/LDMOS)\n\n * RF filter design, Transmitter and receiver design\n\n * LNA, down-converter and up-converter design\n\n * Antenna design\n\n * Working knowledge of analog and digital electronics\n\n * EMC experience\n\n * Practical experience with PCB prototype testing and rework\n\n * Proficiency with RF simulation tools and PCB design software\n\nPreferred Experience\n\n * 7+ years in RF design\n\n * Experience with Altium Designer, Cadence AWR Microwave Office, Ansys HFSS\n\n * Background in military or airborne applications, experience with MIL-STD and DO160 testing\n\n * Electronics experience including switch-mode PSUs, embedded circuitry, and EMC\n\nEducation\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience\n\nBenefits Package\n\n * Annual bonus scheme (3-6% of salary)\n\n * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays\n\n * Option to buy 5 additional holiday days\n\n * Hybrid working model (3 days office/2 days home)\n\n * Competitive pension scheme (5% employer contribution with 5% employee contribution)\n\n * Life insurance coverage\n\n * Professional development opportunities\n\nRequirements\n\nMust be eligible for UK security clearance (SC) | British citizenship or appropriate right to work
