The Senior Rigger Service Technician is a highly skilled and experienced member of our team responsible for rigging and maintaining various types of boats and watercraft. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the safety, performance, and advanced rigging solutions for our customers.



Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Rigging: Execute advanced rigging tasks, including custom rigging solutions, complex sail configurations, and performance enhancements.
  • Rigging Expertise: Provide expert-level knowledge in rigging techniques, components, materials, and technologies.
  • Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect and maintain boat rigging components to ensure they are in peak condition and perform complex repairs or replacements.
  • Rig Tuning: Conduct intricate rig tuning to optimize boat performance, including precise adjustments to mast rake, rigging line tensions, and sail controls.
  • Custom Rigging: Collaborate with customers to design and implement custom rigging solutions tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
  • Sail Handling Mastery: Demonstrate mastery in sail handling, including advanced sail hoisting, trimming, and sail shape adjustments.
  • Safety Oversight: Supervise and enforce safety protocols, ensuring the highest level of safety standards in rigging and sailing.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed and comprehensive records of rigging work, inspections, modifications, and parts used.
  • Customer Consultation: Consult with customers on advanced rigging projects, provide recommendations, and deliver detailed cost estimates.
  • Repairs and Upgrades: Execute complex boat repairs and upgrades, including fiberglass work, hardware customization, and performance enhancements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and mentorship to junior service technicians, assisting in their skill development and training.
  • Safety Precautions: Champion safety measures and guidelines, setting an example for safety-conscious work practices.
  • Inventory Management: Manage an extensive inventory of rigging materials, components, and advanced equipment.
  • Emergency Response: Lead and coordinate responses to emergency situations, such as boat rescues or advanced towing.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all rigging work meets the highest quality standards, customer expectations, and performance criteria.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay at the forefront of rigging techniques, materials, and industry innovations through advanced training and self-study.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical training or certification in rigging or marine systems is required.
  • Extensive experience in boat rigging, sailing, or a related field.
  • Profound knowledge of boat rigging components, sailing hardware, and advanced sailing terminology.
  • Advanced technical skills and mechanical proficiency for complex boat rigging and repairs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Unwavering commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to manage heavy boat rigging components and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and adapt to challenging work environments.

Position Type:

This is a full-time position with regular business hours, but flexibility may be required based on seasonal demand and advanced rigging projects.
