Job Description/Senior Service Engineer Responsibilities
· Routine calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment ex.(https://scical.com/services/service-list/)
· Perform preventative maintenance and repairs both in house and at client sites.
· Execute PM’s and Qualifications on various advanced analytical instrumentation such as chromatography and automation/liquid handling systems.
· Method Development
· Instrument Validation - Temperature Mapping
· Initiating new Standard Operating Procedures or Protocols.
· Work closely with management to advance capabilities of the Service Department.
· Regularly scheduled out of town travel required up to 30% of the time.
· Communicate professionally with customers regarding specifications, procedures, adjustments, etc.
· Complete service paperwork accurately and timely.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Associated Science. 10+ years of hands-on laboratory equipment calibration/validation experience .
· Strong analytical thinker with an electromechanical inclination.
· Proficient Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Macros and VBA experience a plus).
· Excellent written and communication skills.
· Required candidate would be a motivated self-starter with willingness to learn and dig into documentation and service manuals.
· Capacity to work independently and/or with vendors, perform troubleshooting and solve complex problems.
· Ability to train/educate Jr. Level Service Technicians on calibration procedures
· Background in using Waters Empower, Thermo Chromeleon, Agilent Open Lab/Chemstation, etc is .
· Must have a driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Desired Characteristics
· Strong understanding of the calibration process with excellent documentation skills.
· Working understanding of FDA regulations, GMP and GLP compliance standards
· Experience with calibration, service or repair of other laboratory instrumentation.
· Must be a highly flexible and motivated team player committed to working in a quality environment.
· Excellent customer service and communication skills.
