JOB TITLE: Senior Service HVAC Technician
REPORTS TO: Service Manager
DEPARTMENT: Service
Essential Duties:
Primary experience on air/water cooled chillers. Must be able to work in a team environment, perform various duties including troubleshooting, maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and installation of commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipment. The air conditioning and heating equipment could include split systems, mini split systems, multizone, RTU's, self-contained systems, controls, AHUs and EFs, pumps, piping and other misc. equipment at customer's request.
Completes service contracts, quoted projects and demand service calls as directed. Develops long-term relationships with customers and explains work performed to the customer's satisfaction. Communicates and documents project status to all project stakeholders.
Serves as a lead and front-line resource to service technicians through technical support. Coordinates the work of subcontractors and trains and provides guidance to technicians.
Purchase materials and issue purchase order numbers to suppliers.
Safely drives a motor vehicle and trailer, follows requirements of company vehicle driving policy and adheres to all company safety requirements.
Maintains equipment, tools, and inventory stock on service vehicle.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have a valid driver’s license and Universal EPA certification.
Must possess professional people skills and appearance.
Must have knowledge of chill water systems, commercial air conditioning, water source equipment, air flow properties and duct systems.
Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions, to follow technical manuals, write legible and identifying information and request supplies verbally and in writing.
Be able to handle very heavy work; exertion in excess of one hundred (100) pounds on occasion.
Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, walking, pushing, lifting, grasping, feeling, fingering, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions are required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years previous work experience in an air conditioning, refrigeration environment.
