Senior Software Development Engineer - Application Development

About the Role In the Application Development Teams, you will craft and develop high-quality, large scale enterprise cloud solutions, in an agile environment. You will collaborate with software architects, product managers, and other partners to deliver solutions crafted to meet the needs of today's large global businesses. Development is all done in the cloud, on a single codeline, through a continuous development model.We require a hands-on technical leader to work in a collaborative, fast paced agile environment. You will be required to:Drive the design and development of scalable, highly performant, highly available enterprise application solutionsInnovate constantly while committing efficient, robust and maintainable code within an OO frameworkRelentlessly champion code quality by delivering reliable unit, integration, and system level tests to run on our CD pipelinePartner effectively with product and senior stakeholders to drive product visionCommunicate complex ideas simply and effectively to drive effective decision-making with senior leadershipCoach and mentor team members to deliver to high standards by actively contributing to pair programming initiatives, interactive code reviews, design reviews, brown bags and innovation-focused hackathonsCollaborate cross functionally with local and remote technical teams to ensure we always deliver the best possible solutions to our customersAbout YouBasic Qualifications:7+ years of experience building enterprise level web applications and/or SaaS (Software as a Service);Experience of object-oriented development; building applications, developed in languages such as; Java, Kotlin, C#, Python or JavascriptDemonstrable track record in technical leadership - people, product & process.Experience of leading the technical delivery of innovative and complex business functionalityUnderstanding of software engineering principles and the ability to demonstrate the application of these principles in recent project deliverablesA code quality champion and advocate with a understanding of test automation principlesUnderstanding of performance engineering and performance testing principlesOther Qualifications:Experience with Integration technologiesExposure to modern UI technologies such as ReactMetadata-driven definitional development experienceAt Workday, we believe every potential recruit brings value to the table.
