Location: Southampton (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)
Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 p/a
We’ve partnered with a product and software business, whose product has a direct impact on ocean emissions. They are currently working with us to hire a Senior Software Engineer to build a secure and scalable data platform capable of processing large volumes of data and to develop digital applications handling thousands of users.
The business are well established, with clear product market fit and a growing customer base, but a huge scope of opportunity from a digital product perspective, which is exactly where you come in. From a ‘digital product’ perspective, they are heavily B2B, with the products used by customers allowing them undertake tasks ranging from fleet management, to data reporting and staff training – these products exist across desktop and mobile.
You’ll be reporting into the Head of Software Development, and collaborating closely with their product team. On the Engineering team, you will work alongside Cloud Engineers, backend and front-end developers to develop an event driven Azure hosted data platform with the backend written in C# and Python. On a day-to-day, you can also expect to be involved in:

- Design and develop microservices; and
- Advance the development of their data platform, enhancing the ingestion process and expanding C# based APIs.

- ORM Tools (SQL Alchemy, Django or EF Core.
- Unit testing (xUnit, pytest, React Testing Library or Jest)
- Experience within DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Feature flag software releases.
