The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for leading software development projects, making architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. The role contributes significantly to the development and refinement of the RAVE In-flight Entertainment (IFE) software portfolio.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture, design, and implementation of software features in technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, NodeJS, TypeScript, React, and Qt
- Develop and improve testing strategies employing Jest, SAST, DAST, and Vulnerability Scanning
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to improve CI/CD pipelines, incorporating tools like Jenkins and Bitbucket
- Contribute to the software containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, reviewing their code and providing constructive feedback
- Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of the software
- Work closely with business analysts and project managers to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements
- Follow and contribute to Agile methodology and team processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience in a related field
- 7-10 years of software development experience
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML5, NodeJS, TypeScript, and React. Familiarity with Qt is a plus
- Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies, including Jest and various security scanning tools
- Knowledge in GraphQL and Swagger for API development is advantageous
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Previous experience in IFE or similar industries is a plus
