Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.Other Requirements:Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.You must be legally authorized to work in Ireland to be eligible for this role.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or PythonOR equivalent experience.People management experience at lead level.Experience working with teams in other time zones.Must be technically hands-on (strong coding is required in this role)ResponsibilitiesThis Senior Software Engineering Manager role seeks someone who has shown great collaboration and partnership skills with a passion for technical excellence.Lead, coach, and build a diverse, inclusive, high-performing team where all team members can do their best work.Deliver tools (potentially AI-powered) and reusable solutions to help the organization efficiently meet security requirements.Drive clarity around security requirements, centrally track remaining work, and consult with teams on challenging issues to ensure on-time completion.Help engineering managers and feature teams find ways to deal with urgent engineering debt and work with them to make a realistic schedule for addressing it.Provide tooling, infrastructure, coding, and best practices to efficiently address security requirements so engineers can spend more time coding to deliver new customer value.Promote engineering basics with teams by sharing knowledge and offering model solutions that address frequent or important problems in production.Create a community of experts in different topics and encourage interactions among engineering teams to help engineers share their knowledge and get the support they need.Benefits/perks listed below may vary depending on the nature of your employment with Microsoft and the country where you work.Industry leading healthcareEducational resourcesDiscounts on products and servicesSavings and investmentsMaternity and paternity leaveGenerous time awayGiving programsOpportunities to network and connect
