Senior / Staff Development Process Engineer (Mold Development)

Job Description Job Responsibilities: New Product/Process Development • Provide expert advice, actively participating in New Product Design activity on DFM, FMEA, design inputs, suggestion with respect to plastic molding tools. • Perform mold flow analysis using CAE software, optimize product & process architecture for warpage reduction, blister elimination, and avoidance on material degradation. • Responsible for development of new mold design according to company standard, follow up on mold design review and fabrication in accordance with development schedule to support product ramp up launch. • Coordinate with tooling team for tooling Design, Debug/FOT and qualify the production tooling in accordance with OEE, Yield requirement and mold tooling transfer to production • Coordinate with supplier for mold specification, quotation, review, follow up, FAI closure and other technical issues • Document and update new mold design drawings, FAI/Cmk, and other mold buyoff trial run report. Publish key technical learning; publish recommended practice for future NPD risk reduction, FMEA. • Explore and Implement new Technologies / Innovation in Mold / Molding Department to reduce cost, quality, and lead time. • Support Molding production in terms of mold improvements and pre-production runs • Other duties as assigned by Management Requirements Job Requirement • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastic Processing Engineering or equivalent • At least 10 years of experience in Mold Design, fabrication and development of connector plastic mold • Experience in connector mold design, insert-molding technology, molding process parameter optimization and plastic material science would be an added advantage • Expert user of Moldflow CAE software • Team player; must be able to synergize with New Product R&D team. Demonstrated past experience in solving challenging technical issue associated with complex connector molding and insert-molding. • Working knowledge of technologies associate with two color molding is an added advantage. • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software and CAE software specific to mold development. • Able to communicate effectively with cross-geographical supplier base in China; written and verbal.
