Senior Staff Engineer, Vantage Mainframe

Job Description REQUIREMENTS:Experience 8+ yearsStrong experience with Vantage Mainframe.Proficiency in Vantage programming languages.Strong understanding of mainframe architecture, components, and tools.Experience with mainframe databases (., DB2, IMS).Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Experience with version control systems (., Git, SVN) is a plus.Knowledge of Agile development practices is an advantage.Good understanding of Japanese customs and rules of business meetings.Proficient in communicating and driving technology solutions that support business objectivesAbility to work effectively and manage partnerships with all areas and members of the business as well as all levels of the organization. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving and prioritization skills .Ability to explore and grasp new technologiesMentoring your team members in projects and helping them keep up with new technologiesEmpowering the team members to be solution providers and enable a flat environment where everyone’s point of view is considered and feedback is encouraged.RESPONSIBILITIES:Understanding the client’s business use cases and technical requirements and be able to convert them in to technical design which elegantly meets the requirementsMapping decisions with requirements and be able to translate the same to developersIdentifying different solutions and being able to narrow down the best option that meets the client’s requirementsDefining guidelines and benchmarks for NFR considerations during project implementationWriting and reviewing design document explaining overall architecture, framework, and high-level design of the application for the developersReviewing architecture and design on various aspects like extensibility, scalability, security, design patterns, user experience, NFRs, etc., and ensure that all relevant best practices are followedDeveloping and designing the overall solution for defined functional and non-functional requirements; and defining technologies, patterns, and frameworks to materialize itUnderstanding and relating technology integration scenarios and applying these learnings in projectsQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
