You will become a member of Illumina’s team doing cutting-edge development of sequencing platforms – and enjoy a fast-paced dynamic environment and a culture of open communication and mutual respect! The Electrical Engineering team defines, develops, and commercializes our designs for new, industry-leading sequencing instruments for life sciences and clinical markets.Responsibilities: Lead the electrical system design and development of next generation sequencing platform.Develop, implement, and verify electric design ensuring functionality and performance meet specifications. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to define system requirements and design specifications and ensure seamless integration of all subsystems. Collaborate with project management to ensure the successful execution of projects from concept to production. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers.Requirements:Extensive experience in mixed-signal circuit design.Solid Electrical Engineering background including PCB and circuit designProficiency simulation tools, and PCB design tools. Experience in embedded systems designExperience with RTL design using VerilogExperience using Xilinx Vivado Design SuiteProven leadership experience in guiding engineering teams. Be curious and analytical, with a proven ability to learn quicklyBe customer-focused, team-oriented, and motivated, taking ownership of assigned tasksHave proven ability to self-manage, as well as manage interdisciplinary relationshipsHave experience leading design effortsHave proven verbal and written communication skillsHave the ability to drive tasks through to completionRequired to pass color perception test for designing circuitsPossess proven troubleshooting skillsComfortable to take morning calls with US teamsComfortable in traveling to US for training purposesPreferred: Familiarity with FPGA design, simulation and implementation. Knowledge of low-power design techniques. Programming skills (e.g., Python, C++) for automation and analysis. Education:BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 15+ years experience or PhD with 10+ industry experienceListed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position.
