Our client a pioneering engineering firm at the forefront of maritime innovation is searching for a Senior Structural Analysis Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth. The company specialised in the design, optimisation, and delivery of cutting-edge maritime solutions.\n\n In this senior role you will lead structural analysis efforts on both current and future projects, working closely with industry experts to develop new methodologies and tools. Your contributions will play a key role in refining our products and ensuring they meet stringent static and dynamic load requirements.\n\n The Package:\n\n £55,000 DOE\n\n 25 Days Holiday\n\n Company Pension\n\n Private Medical Insurance\n\n Life Assurance\n\n Electric Car and Pension Salary Sacrifice Scheme\n\n Cycle-to-work Scheme\n\n Regular Social Events\n\n The Role:\n\n Develop load cases and targets using fundamental principles, previous experience, and requirements from customers, legislation, and internal documentation\n\n Work within a multidisciplinary team to support design efforts ensuring solutions meet specified static and dynamic load requirements\n\n Assist with feasibility studies and requirements during the pre-contract and concept phases\n\n Perform and document analyses in accordance with established procedures, ensuring clarity and compliance with both internal standards and legislative requirements\n\n Mentor and guide junior engineers, leveraging your expertise in system behaviour, load paths, structural responses and potential failure modes\n\n Create and execute stress analysis simulations using tools like NX SimCentre, selecting suitable techniques and boundary conditions to balance speed, accuracy and relevance\n\n Interpret simulation results, prepare detailed reports, and contribute to the physical testing, calibration, and validation processes\n\n Act as a point of contact for technical discussions with customers, suppliers, manufacturing teams and internal stakeholders\n\n Requirements:\n\n Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Marine or Aerospace Engineering\n\n Experience in stress simulation, including both implicit and fatigue analysis, with a strong understanding of linear and non-linear methods\n\n Proven experience with both metallic and composite structures, and proficiency in FEM analysis for shell and solid structures\n\n Skilled in performing classical hand calculations and creating your own calculation sheets\n\n Practical experience with physical testing and correlation is beneficial\n\n Experience with Siemens SimCenter is ideal, through familiarity with other analysis software (Hyperworks, nCode, FEMFAT, LS-Dyna, NASTRAN, FEMAP)\n\n Working Knowledge of TeamCenter and Siemens NX
