Senior Structural Engineer

Roles and responsibilities Document Review and Support: Assist Engineers in reviewing contractor submittal documents, including Shop Drawings, Method Statements, Pre-Qualifications, QA/QC documents, and Materials. Ensure the correct revision level and technical accuracy of all submitted documents for proper work execution. Construction Inspection: Inspect the construction of temporary and permanent structural works, particularly for Bridges and Underpasses, ensuring compliance with approved shop drawings, materials, method statements, contract documents, and relevant codes and standards. Monitor and verify conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements during inspections. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare daily logs and reports, maintaining detailed records of inspections, tests performed, and work executed. Ensure that all documentation is in line with the Contract Administration Procedures Manual. Project Handover and Final Inspection: Assist in the inspection of completed works, prepare punch lists, and monitor the start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover of the works. What Required Skills You'll Bring Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a reputed institution. 10 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience for review of contractor submittal documents for Bridges / Underpasses / Infrastructure works in the GCC. UAE Valid Driving License. Ability to perform occasional shift changes from day and night. Desired candidate profile Structural Engineering Knowledge : Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, materials, and construction practices. Inspection Techniques : Proficiency in various inspection methods, including visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and load testing. Building Codes and Standards : Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, ASTM). Project Management Inspection Planning : Ability to develop and execute detailed inspection plans for construction projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and safety standards. Documentation : Skills in maintaining accurate and comprehensive inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and follow-up actions. Analytical Skills Problem-Solving : Strong analytical skills for identifying potential structural issues and developing solutions. Risk Assessment : Ability to assess risks associated with structural integrity and safety, making informed recommendations for corrective actions. Communication Skills Technical Reporting : Proficiency in preparing clear and concise reports for stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Collaboration : Skills in effectively communicating with project teams, providing guidance, and addressing concerns. Compliance and Safety Regulatory Compliance : Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing structural safety and inspections. Safety Standards : Understanding of safety practices and protocols, ensuring that inspections are conducted in a safe manner. Leadership and Mentoring Team Leadership : Ability to lead and mentor junior inspectors and construction personnel, fostering a culture of safety and quality. Training Development : Skills in developing training materials and programs for staff on inspection processes and best practices.
