Senior Structural Engineer (On-site)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and project management of a wide variety of structures, including buildings, towers, cooling towers, car dealerships, and schools. This role requires technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and problem-solving skills to deliver innovative, high-quality structural solutions. You will collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects from design through construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Analysis & Design:
Lead the design and analysis of diverse structures such as towers, cooling towers, high-rise buildings, parking garages, and educational facilities
Utilize software like SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit to develop and validate structural designs
Select appropriate materials (steel, concrete, masonry, composites) to ensure structural integrity and compliance with project specifications
Building Codes & Regulations:
Ensure all projects comply with local, , and international building codes (ACI, AISC, ASCE, IBC) and safety standards
Integrate sustainable design practices into public spaces, such as schools and commercial buildings
Structural Retrofitting & Rehabilitation:
Evaluate and upgrade existing structures (e.g., parking garages, older buildings) to improve safety, functionality, and durability
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and mentor project teams, including junior engineers, drafters, and cross-functional collaborators (architects, contractors, engineers)
Oversee quality control and technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle
Manage client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring clear communication regarding project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
Coordinate and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
Innovative Design Solutions:
Develop creative, cost-effective structural solutions to address unique challenges such as space constraints, complex load requirements, and unconventional geometries
Optimize designs for sustainability, safety, and efficiency without compromising quality
Communication & Collaboration:
Clearly communicate complex engineering concepts to clients, stakeholders, and project teams
Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and proposals
Review and provide constructive feedback on the work of junior engineers to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety standards
Collaborate effectively with architects, mechanical engineers, geotechnical engineers, and construction teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering
Minimum of 12 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on diverse projects, including towers, cooling towers, parking garages, commercial buildings, and educational facilities
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in New Jersey and New York, or the ability to obtain licensure
Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro, AutoCAD, and Revit
Valid driver’s license
