We are currently hiring a Senior Systems Design Engineer to join the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization located in Tucson, AZ.

Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer and so much more to ensure we design, integrate, and build our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! 





As System Design Engineer, you will collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to help define requirements, interfaces, subsystem behavior, and how the subsystem will integrate into the overall system and architecture. Depending on your level of experience, you will also have the opportunity to guide and mentor other team members.  Through Digital Transformation (DTx) you will perform these functions using a variety of methods and enabling technologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Agile product development.





What You Will Do:





You will obtain in-depth technical knowledge of the Effectors subsystem that is assigned to you





You will perform requirements flow down and allocation to subsystems as well as develop the requirements traceability verification matrix.





You will be responsible for establishing the approach and implementing the subsystem design and architecture while following established standards and procedures. Design work may require using Model Based System Engineering methods and tools. 





Ownership of interface requirements for a given system or subsystem





You will apply knowledge of the subsystem and collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to develop and maintain the subsystem requirements.





You will interact with Technical SMEs as necessary to fully understand the subsystem including identifying and resolving issues and supporting related subsystem trades or analysis





Depending on level of experience, you will provide mentoring and guidance to other team members





Qualifications You Must Have:





Typically requires a Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 5 (five) years of engineering experience or an advanced degree and 3 (three) years of engineering experience





The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. are eligible for a security clearance





Qualifications We Prefer:





Experience in missile systems design, integration, test, or flight demonstration





Experience capturing and maintaining system requirements





Experience managing or guiding teams addressing requirements definition, decomposition, and changes





Experience with DOORS





Experience with SysML, DoDAF, WOSA, MOSA, or GRA





Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler





Experience implementing architecture and designs with Model Based Systems Engineering tools.





Experience managing or guiding teams working architecture and design





Experience performing design or requirements development with cross-disciplined Engineering teams





Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes





Experience developing internal and external interface designs (digital, electrical, and mechanical) and documenting them in specifications such as a Master Interconnect Diagram (MID), Interface Control Drawing (ICD) or Interface Description Document (IDD)





Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline





Active Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense)

Location Information :





This position requires a security clearance. DCSA Consolidated Adjudication Services (DCSA CAS), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.





This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
