The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the enterprise's IT architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organization's strategic goals and operational requirements. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to define technical requirements, develop architectural solutions, and guide the successful implementation of IT systems. The Senior Systems Engineer will ensure that the infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure, supporting the organization's long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Architecture Design and Development:

  • Develop and maintain the overall architecture of the organization’s IT systems, including hardware, software, networks, and data.
  • Define and document system architectures, including components, interfaces, and interactions.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance systems that meet business needs.
  • Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and other IT staff to ensure cohesive and efficient system architecture.
  • Collaborate with other departments and plants to establish technical solutions
  • Provide Project Management to implement and document new technical solutions

2. Technology Strategy and Planning:

  • Work with the executive team to align IT strategy with business objectives.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption based on organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain technology roadmaps to guide future IT investments and upgrades.
  • Ensure that architectural decisions support the company’s long-term vision and are compliant with industry standards.

3. Implementation and Integration:

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of IT systems, ensuring that they meet design specifications and performance standards.
  • Lead the integration of new systems with existing infrastructure, minimizing disruption and ensuring compatibility.
  • Lead and scale with IT Directors approval business acquisitions into North America Domain and architecture schemes.
  • Provide technical guidance during the software development lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure that projects align with global architectural standards.

4. Governance and Compliance:

  • Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices with IT Directors approval.
  • Conduct regular reviews of system architecture to identify areas for improvement or noncompliance.
  • Ensure that systems meet security and data protection requirements, including adherence to GDPR, HIPAA, or other relevant regulations.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between IT and other departments to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Present architectural plans and proposals to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor and guide junior IT staff, promoting knowledge sharing and skills development.

6. Performance Monitoring and Optimization:

  • Monitor the performance of IT systems to ensure they meet user requirements and organizational goals.
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in system performance and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct regular audits of system architecture to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
  • Responsible for all NA server infrastructure, servers, switches, backups.

7. Vendor and Stakeholder Management:

  • Evaluate and select third party vendors for IT services and products.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure that their solutions align with the organization’s architecture.
  • Oversee the procurement and deployment of IT solutions from external providers with IT Directors approvals.


Qualifications:
 Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree or 12 to 14 years equivalent experience with certification.

 Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 to 12 years of experience in IT, with at least 8 to 10 years in a systems role.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex IT systems and architectures.

   Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
  • Proficiency in architectural frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team management skills.


 Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Expert, or The Open Group Architecture Framework are highly desirable.


Working Conditions:

  • Environment: Office based with occasional travel to other company sites as required.
  • Extended travel may be required
  • Hours: Fulltime, with some required afterhours support or emergency situations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
