Job Description



We are seeking a Senior Team Lead for our Cooling Water Island team at locations in Blackburn, Sunderland, or Newcastle. This pivotal role involves forming, leading, and managing engineering teams for Front End Engineering Delivery on the RR SMR project.

⚡️ Approve Safety and Functional Requirements

⚡️ Oversee and sign off on Design Packages

⚡️ Provide Model Based System Engineering oversight

⚡️ Prepare and sign off Technical Specifications

⚡️ Monitor and report on programme progress

⚡️ Manage risk and opportunities

⚡️ Develop and manage team

⚡️ Ensure SQEPing of resources

⚡️ Coach and identify training needs



Qualifications



Essential Skills and Qualifications



Proven experience in similar roles, from FEED to detailed design

Leading and integrating multi-disciplinary design teams

Understanding of power station systems

Budgeting and work program definition for complete design project lifecycles

Proven experience in Front End Engineering solutions for New Build conventional Island

Knowledge of relevant regulations (ONR, Environment Agency, HSE)

Requirements Capture/Elicitation/management experience

Model Based System Engineering experience

Managing sub-contracts and sub-contractors

CEng in a relevant discipline✔️ Desired Skills



Excellent communication skills, written and oral

Strong leadership skills

Focus on delivering quality output to time and budget

Integrity and ability to instil this in others

Appreciation of wider technical issues beyond own discipline

Independence, initiative, and self-motivation
