Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a Senior DevOps Engineer – Cloud & Automation opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid work model, 3 days onsite)
Duration: 6 months

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our modernization efforts. The ideal candidate is proficient in Terraform, Ansible, Git, and Azure, and passionate about automation, cloud transformation, and application modernization.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain automated infrastructure and deployment pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, and Git.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and modernize on-prem applications for cloud migration, ensuring best practices.
• Participate in daily stand-ups and backlog refinement, contributing to automation initiatives.
• Engage in technical workshops multiple times a week, sharing automation successes and best practices.
• Work in a highly collaborative team that values knowledge-sharing and mentorship.
• Adapt to changing business needs, floating between teams based on strengths while reporting to original managers.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of DevOps experience, with expertise in Terraform, Ansible, Git, and Azure.
• Strong automation background—focus on building and maintaining automated systems, not just operations.
• Experience with modernizing applications, beyond simple lift-and-shift cloud migrations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to take initiative and drive improvements.
• Ability to mentor and be mentored, sharing knowledge across teams.
• Open to quarterly travel to Buffalo for All Hands meetings (if remote).

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Familiarity with banking industry constraints and best practices (not required but a plus).

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
