You will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging water and wastewater infrastructure and conveyance projects for our Municipal Clients, where you will utilize your expertise to collaborate with our teams in a safe and efficient delivery – from start to finish.

As a Senior Tunneling Contract Administrator, you will work as an Owner's representative in the field, on various types of infrastructure and conveyance projects, leading other members of the site inspection and support team.  You will coordinate and communicate with all stakeholders on a project, including: client project manager, municipalities, design team, and third parties: regulatory bodies, municipal and federal agencies; testing agencies and laboratories, as well as contractors.

You will ensure construction is in accordance with contract drawings and specifications; manage records of construction activities; prepare reports; keep logs; prepare change orders and payment certificates, keep photo records, etc.  You will coordinate and facilitate with engineering design team review of shop drawing; requests for information, site instructions and assist in resolving design/construction issues in the field.  You will evaluate, select, and apply company's and client's standards for construction inspections and administration.

 Here's What You'll Need: 

You must have:

  • Engineering and heavy construction experience in municipal infrastructure and conveyance projects
  • Proven track record of delivering heavy construction projects on time and within budget
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and/or supervise project teams
  • Foresight and balanced judgement in anticipating and solving problems during construction.
  • Worked as owner's representative in managing construction contracts including; acting as the primary point of contract, preparing payments, change orders, request for information, schedule review and oversight, time extensions, and certificates of completion.
  • Preparation and distribution of weekly reports
  • Participate and run effective daily/weekly CM meetings
  • Participate in Project Workshops, Client and Construction meetings
  • Valid driver's license and a car to drive to the sites
  • Ability to work at heights

Here's what You'll Need:

  • A current licence in good standing with a public body within the province of Ontario, such as Professional Engineers of Ontario (P.Eng.) (preferred) or The Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists - Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
  • University degree or Engineering technology diploma or demonstrated experience
  • Extensive experience with linear conveyance construction administration experience is required
  • Prior experience on multiple large tunneling projects is preferred
  • Municipal client project experience is required
  • High capital value project or program experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and contractors
  • Ability to tolerate outdoor weather conditions in summer and winter
  • Experience working in the GTA is strongly preferred
