The Role
Koin Games is looking for a highly skilled Senior Unity Game Systems & UI Engineer with a strong portfolio of published titles. In this remote role, you will play a key part in shaping the future of gaming by designing and implementing core metagame systems and functional UIs for features such as Deck Editing, Card Fusion, Store, and Battle Pass. You'll collaborate with Technical Artists to transform functional prototypes into polished, production-ready experiences that surprise and delight players. Responsibilities
- Partner with designers to plan, implement, and iterate on engaging gameplay systems.
- Develop robust and scalable metagame logic for complex features with precision and efficiency.
- Create functional and intuitive UIs, ensuring smooth handoff to Technical Artists for refinement and polish.
- Collaborate with engineers to solve challenges, conduct code reviews, and address bugs efficiently.
- Mentor and inspire junior engineers, promoting growth and fostering technical excellence.
- Uphold industry standards for performance, quality, and scalability across all systems.
- Contribute to improving codebase organization, quality, and automation processes.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional game software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of Unity development experience using C#.
- Proven track record of shipping multiple games on desktop or mobile platforms.
- Hands-on experience implementing metagame systems in past projects (e.g., progression systems, shops, or card editors).
- Demonstrated skill in creating functional and user-friendly UIs, with a passion for UI development.
- Experience working on AAA or AA-quality games, ideally for PC or mobile.
- Ability to thrive in a remote work environment with excellent time management and communication skills.
Bonus Points for any of these:
- Familiarity with gaming backends like Beamable or similar technologies.
- Expertise in designing and refining UI frameworks, systems, and high-quality polish.
- Strong knowledge of performance optimization for mobile and desktop platforms.

The Legal Bits:In Compliance with local US law, we are disclosing compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Koin’s total compensation package, which may also include bonuses and LTI or other program specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differentials.
- We offer competitive pay based on market standards. The base salary for this role is between $100,000 to $150,000, depending on skills and experience. Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors.
- This role is full-time, exempt and will be fully remote
- The ability to work core hours on Pacific time is required
- Global, non-US candidates will be considered only on a contract basis only
