Purpose of the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Service Charge Manager to join our mixed use accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial service charge accounting and will be responsible for preparing,
monitoring, and reporting on all financial aspects of the service charge expenditure and reconciliation process for a premier mixed use asset.

Responsibilities:
Inputting Service Charge budgets onto accounting system
Ensure accurate reconciliation of service charge income and expenditure
Point of contact for on-site queries from surveying and ops teams
Completion of monthly budget v actual variance reports
Responsible for posting of journals, accruals & prepayments
Responsible for the closure of service charge accounts
Liaising with auditors as part of the service charge reconciliation process
Comply with RICS service charge code
Compliance with Savills policies and procedures
Attend client and internal meetings as and when required
Creating statements of funds
Carry out balance sheet reviews and cleardowns
Manage on site accounting team
Maintain/track reserve fund expenditure
Manage tenant recoverables
Manage insurance claims reconciliations
Reconcile supplier statements of accounts
Cash management and escalation of funding issues
Review, monitor and approve purchase orders
Manage service charge expenditure and other site managed funds
Review and monitor purchase orders
Preparation of monthly and quarterly service charge budget v actual report (BVA)
Inputting of service charge budgets onto MRI accounting system
Liaise with auditors in respect of service charge closure
Reconcile year end balancing charges/credits with the client accounting team
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Key skills:
Good collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Working to strict deadlines whilst achieving a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
Strong analytical skills
Experience of both residential and commercial service charges.
Strong Excel skills is critical.
Ability to engage and consistently work well in a fast-paced environment
A team player but does not shy away from working on their own initiative, taking responsibility for their own workload and ensuring tasks are prioritised effectively
You’ll need to have:
Previous experience in a similar position.
Financial and technical reporting experience in a client service role.
The ability to work in a varied and evolving department.
A Willingness to learn and welcome opportunities for training and professional development.
Part Qualified (ACCA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
The ability to communicate with all levels within the business as well as clients.
Confidence with a positive outlook
Ethical with strong integrity
At least 4 years experience working in service charge accounting
Working Hours - Mon – Fri 9:00am to 5:30pm
Salary - £52k p.a.
