MCC is currently seeking a JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN. The journeyman electrician will execute assigned electrical responsibilities encompassing general maintenance, preventive maintenance, construction, repair and installation of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment. Installs, repairs, maintains and inspects electrical systems and equipment such as motors, fixtures, transformers, generators, wiring, switchboards, alarm systems, controllers, circuit breakers and medium voltage transmission equipment, works from blueprints and specifications, makes working drawings and single line power diagrams, locates and diagnoses electrical malfunctions using various test instruments.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Plan and install electrical systems, test circuits, terminate wires, and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Maintain, prepare, and know how to operate service equipment, power tools, measuring tools.
  • Prepare job sites, operate heavy machinery, and work in diverse environments, including heights, confined spaces, and hazardous conditions.
  • Follow OSHA and site-specific safety protocols, and document wiring changes and modifications.
  • Ensure punctual attendance, meet deadlines, and respond to emergency duties after hours.
  • Hold a Journeyman license and maintain a valid driver’s license.

This position is designated as a safety sensitive position because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle, the operating, maintaining, and monitoring of heavy equipment and machinery, and working with and around hazardous materials, at

heights, and in confined spaces. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death. For the safety of the employee and others, the employee must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long

periods of time while operating a motor vehicle, operating, maintaining, and monitoring heavy equipment and machinery, and while working with and around hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.


SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Must have Service Tech experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Electrical License is
  • Actively developing an understanding and working knowledge of the NFPA 70 series, State, and local codes
  • Ability to understand, interpret and utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
  • Locate and diagnoses electrical malfunctions using various test instruments
  • Operate a variety of power tools, shop equipment, and electrical testing instruments
  • Ability and willingness to learn and perform duties normally associated with other areas
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others
  • Good organizational and time-management skills
  • All employees must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for this position
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required
  • A current valid driver’s license is required
