BACKGROUND ON Ghana IHP:The purpose of the USAID-funded Ghana Integrated Health Partnership (IHP) activity to contribute to the Government of Ghana’s strategies to reduce preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths, including stillbirths, and improve their overall health and well-being by 2030. Activities are expected to advance Ghana toward increased localization, strengthening the capacity of Ghana institutions and local organizations to introduce, deliver, scale-up, and sustain the use of evidence-based, quality RMNCH, voluntary family planning, malaria, and global health security services. The project will increase access, utilization and quality of maternal and child health, family planning, malaria, and nutrition services to reduce preventable maternal, newborn and child deaths in northern Ghana. POSITION SUMMARY: Project HOPE seeks a Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) & Family Planning (FP) Advisor to support the implementation of the comprehensive SRH components of the IHP activity, with particular focus on integrating family planning, health response to sexual violence, cervical cancer screening and treatment, and adolescent SRH awareness raising and friendly services. The incumbent must have expertise on current government, private, and NGO strategies, guidelines, initiatives, and barriers and facilitators at the facility level. With this expertise and working closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and relevant directorates the incumbent will guide the integration of SRH into the primary and hospital maternal health care settings strategically addressing known gaps and barriers.  PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Work with other program leads, the RMNCH supervisor, and implementing partners to plan, implement, monitor, report, and revise the needed activities for ensuring all aspects of comprehensive SRH education and services are integrated into maternal health care in project areas including integrating family planning awareness and provision, and health response to sexual violence into ANC and PNC, contraceptives into the delivery room, and establishing/strengthening post abortion care, all in line with government strategy, policy, and initiatives. Establish/maintain relationship with relevant local health authorities to ensure ownership, participation, and sustainability in all projects include strengthening/establishing SRH TWG and ensuring that SRH indicators are part of existing QI committees.  Technical assistance and capacity building to government and NGO partners as needed. Work together with knowledge management collogue for regular sharing of best practices internally within Project HOPE and with external stakeholders through stories, and abstracts. Build relationships with leading national and regional projects and agencies, including USAID and the private sector, to exchange knowledge and understandings. Fulfill other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the MNCH Senior Technical Advisor. MINIMUM REQUIRED SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Must be a healthcare provider with public health and programming experience, ideally an experienced midwife or doctor At least 3 years' experience in successful programming and implementation of SRH programs. English Fluency required. Fluency in local languages strongly preferred. Comfortable with Microsoft programs.
