Our client is seeking a shop Fitter/Welder to support the fabrication group of their business in Elkton, MD. The candidate will be responsible for mechanical fit up of fabricated welded components by reading shop fabrication drawings and working with purchased metal to ensure machinery and structural steel is fabricated correctly.

Essential Functions:

- Experience reading fabrication and shop drawings

- Experience fitting carbon steel and stainless steel components

- Knowledge of iron worker, rolls, shears and other typical shop fabrication equipment

- Basic welding knowledge

- Understanding of machine design, plate, sheet metal, and structural steel members

- Experience will rolled vessels, and heavier plate fabricated duct work and non pressure vessel equipment

- Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment

- Other duties as assigned
