Sigeko – HS Site Manager

The HS Site Manager - SiGeKo will provide independent, expert, and professional advice, guidance, and support to the Windanker Offshore Project team as assigned.

This role involves supporting the on-site HSE team and coordinating documentation and work processes related to health, safety, and environmental requirements.

The HS Site Manager - SiGeKo will report primarily to the Site Construction Manager and the Project HSE Manager within a matrix structure. Additionally, guidance and direction will be provided by the Project Environmental Manager.

Key Tasks

  • Support the WAK Offshore Project Team through pre-construction, construction and commissioning to handover to operations, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the HSE site team.
  • Coordinate the adoption of measures of occupational safety and health by WAK Offshore Project
  • Act as the local on-site HS&E contact for internal and external stakeholders, being responsible for respective authority notification.
  • Produce, review and update HS&E-related documentation, i.e. HS Manual Part B3, Safety and Health plan, required by the allocated offshore project and site information as needed.
  • Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of the WAK safety and protection concept called ‘SchuSiKo’, on both onshore and offshore sites.
  • Compile documents containing relevant safety and health information to be taken into account during any subsequent work on the physical structures.
  • Validates all equipment to be placed within the WAK Windpark, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant with statutory and legislation (ArbSchG, BauStellV as well as ArbStättV).
  • Ensure that employers and contractors meet their obligations under the BaustellV.
  • Onshore and offshore HS&E site inspections - to confirm the implementation of measures stipulated by IBR and contractors in terms of the SiGe-Plan.
  • Coordinate and assist in the permit to work process, on-call duties, ensure all tasks are completed and provide support where needed.
  • Ensure the man-hours from Contractors are received and checked.
  • Provide specialist advice on risk management (i.e. HAZID), Principles of Prevention, and Safe by Design, actively engaging other HS&E support functions.

Key Criteria

  • Master’s or Bachlor’s degree within one or several disciplines linked to the subjects of occupational health and safety, environment, marine technology, nautical science, construction engineering etc. Alternatively work experience in HSE assistance and coordination positions in offshore wind park projects or O&M operations.
  • SiGeKo diploma in reference to German safety legislation.
  • FaSi qualification would be beneficial.
  • Solid experience as HSE professional, with construction and contractor management, ideally within Offshore Wind, Energy or Oil and Gas in a marine environment.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining project HSE Management System.
  • Environmental qualifications in reference to German legislation (e.g. Abfall-, Gefahrstoffbeauftragter etc.) would be beneficial.
  • Mobility – willingness to travel as required.
  • Driver license -Class B.

Desirable

  • Proficiency in German at C1 level is highly desirable. However, candidates with a willingness to achieve this level are encouraged to apply. We offer opportunities to attend German courses to support skill development.

  • Ability to create a culture of trust, respect and openness across different functions & disciplines demonstrating an attitude of understanding to build cross-functional relationships to enhance HSE outcomes.
