WasteRecruit is partnering with a leading renewable energy provider to recruit a skilled and experienced Site Leader to oversee multiple sites in North-East Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing and innovative sector, leading operations and ensuring the delivery of business objectives.
Role Overview
As Site Leader, you will be accountable for the full Profit & Loss (P&L) of operations across multiple sites, overseeing budgets, key performance indicators (KPIs), data-driven decision-making, and regulatory compliance. You will lead both direct and indirect reports, manage relationships with third-party partners, and ensure all operational targets are met. Additionally, you will be part of the on-call escalation process for the sites within the wider group.
Key responsibilities include:
* P&L Responsibility: Ensure financial targets are met through effective cost management, strategic planning, and budget oversight.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards (COMAH, OFGEM, ISO, etc.).
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 10+ people, fostering a culture of safety, high performance, and continuous improvement.
* Operational Excellence: Drive improvements through data analysis, trend identification, and corrective action where necessary.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for third-party authorities and governing bodies.
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven Leadership: At least 5 years in a senior leadership role, managing teams of 10+ individuals, with a track record of driving performance.
* Operational Expertise: Strong background in operations within a production or manufacturing environment, ideally in the renewable energy sector.
* Financial Acumen: Experience managing P&L accounts and controlling budgets.
* Regulatory Knowledge: Experience with industry standards and regulations (e.g., COMAH, SEPA, HSE).
* Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable solutions.
* Safety Focused: Knowledge of SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) compliance and fostering a culture of safe working.
* Advanced IT Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other relevant software.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Degree in an engineering or science discipline (or equivalent experience).
* NEBOSH Certification or similar safety qualifications.
* Six Sigma or process-related training.
* Experience in Anaerobic Digestion or related sectors.
* Experience in auditing or setting up new sites.
