We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Site Superintendent / Project Manager to oversee and manage sitework and excavation projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil construction, site development, excavation, and project management, with experience working in Vermont or similar regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Plan, coordinate, and supervise sitework projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.

  • Site Supervision: Manage daily field operations, including crews, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring efficient workflow.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce all OSHA and company safety regulations, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal construction regulations.

  • Quality Control: Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and maintain high-quality standards in all aspects of sitework.

  • Resource Management: Coordinate equipment, materials, and labor to optimize productivity and minimize costs.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, engineers, municipal representatives, and internal teams.

  • Budget & Cost Control: Track expenses, manage project costs, and provide regular updates to management.

  • Problem-Solving: Identify potential risks and implement proactive solutions to keep projects on track.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, project updates, and as-built documentation.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sitework, excavation, or heavy civil construction, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, drainage, utility installation, road construction, and foundation excavation.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and technical specifications.

  • Experience managing crews and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus.

  • OSHA 30 certification .

  • Experience working in Vermont or similar climates is a plus, with an understanding of local permitting and environmental regulations.
