About the Role

Parry Labs is seeking a motivated Software Engineering to join our dynamic team. This provides a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge defense projects, with a focus on software development using C++.

The position is required to work out of either our Huntsville, AL or Dallas, TX offices. This will be a 12-week paid during the summer of 2025 beginning on Monday, May 19th and concluding on Friday, August 8th.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the software engineering team to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical software solutions using C++.
  • Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to testing and deployment.
  • Work on projects ranging from embedded systems to application-level software for defense applications.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure high-quality, efficient, and secure code.
  • Identify and implement optimizations to improve software performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance coding standards and best practices.
  • Support the integration of software components into larger systems.
  • Collaborate with testing teams to develop and execute software testing plans.
  • Assist in debugging and troubleshooting software issues, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, code documentation, and user manuals.
  • Contribute to the development of software architecture and design documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. candidates will be entering their senior year in Fall 2025.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if needed upon scope of work (US Citizenship required).
  • Strong programming skills and experience or interest in C++ development.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies and practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development processes.
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
