Software Engineering Manager (Internal only)
Job Description Your contribution to something big: - Be able to build trust, encourage an attitude of proactive responsibility and a sense of ownership towards the tasks and projects at hand. - Ensure that the development process, architecture, and standards are followed. You will also be responsible for the team's code quality, delivery schedule, and cost of the project. - Foster a high performing Agile based culture of trust, teamwork, empowerment, accountability, responsiveness, and communication. - Set boundaries, success criteria, and measure progress. Suggest success patterns and call out anti-patterns. - Minimize roadblocks and maximize opportunities to keep all members of the teams productive, engaged, and fulfilled in their roles. - Manage to budget and estimates and communicate when things need to change. - Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and architects to fulfill requirements into the product design and architecture. - Communicate and manage stakeholders and set expectations, managing multiple teams in different projects at the time. Qualifications What distinguishes you: - Passion for people and technology - M.Sc. or PhD in either Software Engineering, Robotics, Physics, Mathematics or a related field. - Servant leadership mindset and skills (coaching, mentoring, influencing, etc.). - Excellent communication and leadership skills, including mentorship ability. - 3+ years of demonstrated management experience. - 5+ years of software development experience. - Ability to work through a large set of unknowns and translate them into effective plans. - Expertise using agile methods for software delivery. - Experience in robotics or AI/ML domains. - Experience in design principles and how they apply to software development. - Solid analytical and diagnostic skills, particularly regarding technical risks, issues and constraints; - Familiar with continuous improvement needs and frameworks to enable improvement.
