About the Role

Index Engines is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead the development of cutting-edge applications. This role involves overseeing the design, architecture, and implementation of a dashboard that provides customers with centralized management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software development, UI/UX design principles, cloud architecture, and team leadership to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions, and application security. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO. Local candidates will be given preference.

Index Engines is the worlds leading AI powered analytics engine to detect data corruption due to ransomware. The companys CyberSense product empowers organizations to detect ransomware and data corruption and facilitate rapid recovery from attacks. CyberSense is the last line of defense for thousands of organizations worldwide.

The Index Engines Engineering team uses the Scrum Agile methodology. The Engineering Team is distributed across four geographic locations: Holmdel NJ, San Jose CA, Colorado Springs CO, and Pune India. This position is in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration:
    • Lead a team of software engineers in designing, developing, and delivering modern, performant, user-friendly Web UI applications.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, architects, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
    • Mentor and develop team members, fostering an environment of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
  • Product Development:
    • Work with Product Management, delivering scalable and secure multi-tenant applications.
    • Manage Agile development process.
    • Define strategies for storing and retrieving data in a performant manner.
  • Strategic Initiatives:
    • Evaluate and refine product requirements to address gaps and ambiguities.
    • Investigate and recommend solutions for critical components.
    • Spearhead integrations with external systems.
    • Lead the implementation of intermediary agents and support bundle features to enhance user experience and maintainability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field; masters degree .
  • Ten years of software engineering experience and/or program management in a software engineering organization.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in leading engineering teams, ideally in multi-tenant UI/UX-focused product development.
  • Expertise in application architecture and secure authentication protocols (e.g., JWT).
  • Expertise in REST API development.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerized deployments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with data persistence and synchronization across distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Agile development practices and tools for project management and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality products on time.

Skills

  • Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and UI design patterns.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies and backend technologies.
  • Experience in managing applications with persistent connections and high data throughput.
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts into actionable plans for diverse stakeholders.
