Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead and oversee residential solar projects. This role involves managing the entire project lifecycle, from sales handoff to installation and commissioning. The Senior Project Manager will ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of residential solar projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with design, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and align project scopes with customer expectations.
- Develop project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Manage budgets, costs, and resources to ensure profitability while delivering quality solar installations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners, ensuring excellent communication and customer service throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with permitting agencies, utility companies, and local inspectors to ensure regulatory compliance and timely project approvals.
- Oversee subcontractors and internal teams responsible for installation, ensuring adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and quality control measures.
- Proactively identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Monitor project performance and report on key metrics, such as timelines, costs, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to junior project managers and installation teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Required Skills:
- Strong background in residential solar project management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Salesforce) and methodologies.
- Knowledge of residential solar design, installation, and permitting processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Familiarity with local and solar regulations, including NEC ( Electric Code) and building codes.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address project challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, renewable energy, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in residential solar energy.
- PMP, CAPM, or other relevant project management certification is a plus.
- Proven track record of managing residential solar installations with budgets ranging from $50k to $1M.
- Proficient in using CRM systems and project management software (e.g., Salesforce, Asana).
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage external contractors.
- Willingness to travel within Ohio to oversee installations.
