Solution Engineer – Substation Protection and Control Engineer

Protection & Control Engineeris responsible for relay protection and control engineering activities,including basic design and check of detail design for high voltage substationand transmission projects. This position will offer the ability to directlyapply candidate’s knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems insubstation and transmission projects.oriented:Perform analysis and design of single line diagram.Develop concept of substation relaying & metering diagrams(i.e. A.C. schematic diagrams), and D.C. Schematic for basic design.Responsible to produce protection and control designs for LVAC,LVDC and UPS equipment associated with LTS.Responsible for the production C.T./V.T. and cable sizingcalculations.Responsible for the production relay configurations and associateddocumentation.Production of Engineering and Test Specifications for new andexisting solutions.Prepare specification & Bill of Material forProtection/Control/Metering/RTU/ Communication PanelsDevelop concept Diagram for substation control system andCommunications interfaces including RTUs, HMIs, and IEDs.Develop Protection and Control Panel layouts.Develop high level Cable Schedule for Substation.Perform Factory Acceptance Test for Protection and Control Panels.Perform reviews of work performed by others.Work closely with other engineering and design and project teammembers to coordinate overall design and requirements during execution andcommissioning phases.Understand and also clarify customer requirements, driving thoseexpectations into Siemens solutions.We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:This position requires abachelor’s degree or equivalent with background in Electrical Engineering.6 years of experience with afocus on protection/control/communications design for substations.Experience in writing and providing support documentation forrelay calculations.Knowledge on ANSI standards, IEC standards knowledge is a plus.Experience with various vendor protective relay equipmenttypically used in substation. protection, including SEL, Siemens, GE.Know-How in Configuration Tools for protection relays fromdifferent vendors (SEL, Siemens, Hitachi, GE, Schneider …) and control systemsis preferable.Expertise with Ebase and Auto-CAD.Hands-on experience with the below shall be preferred: DIGSI-4 & DIGSI-5 Relay Configuration tool of GE, ABB or equivalent. Must have Relevant experience in working with SystemIntegratorsHands on experience and knowledge on working of different relaysapplication.Soft SkillsExcellent Communication (Both written & verbal) &Inter-personal Skills. Critical thinking, reasoning and problem solving are an essentialpart of this position. Enjoys learning new things and build knowledge base in newarea. Enjoys working in Team environments, Exhibits collaboration inmultiple stake holder interactions.
