We have an exciting opportunity for a Space Suit Project Engineer to join the team with Mb Solutions, a teammate company.
The Space Suit Project Engineer will:
- Perform project and test engineering functions for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification.
- Develop essential documentation for the assigned tests including test plans, hazard analyses, test procedures, Test Readiness Review documentation, and any additional operations-related products.
- Design tests and test rigs, identifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities.
- Setup and execute tests and prepare summary reports documenting test results.
- Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within spacesuit hardware, development test articles, or test support hardware.
- Select and apply engineering techniques to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions. Perform other duties as required.
Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate support from a wide range of technical disciplines.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and component level and system level testing.
Requisition Preferences:
- Experience as a project engineer or test engineer.
- Experience with NASA test processes.
- Familiar with electro-mechanical hardware elements(pumps, relief valves, control valves, heating elements, water quality instrumentation, temperature/pressure sensors, etc), and data acquisition systems.
- Experience with oxygen systems or life support systems or LabView programming are all pluses.
