Role Description

IMACS is seeking a Sr. Controls Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role located in Richmond, VA, with flexibility for some remote work. In this role, the Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing software and hardware for control systems. The Sr. Controls Engineer will work directly with clients to assess their needs and develop customized solutions, as well as participating in system integration and commissioning. Additionally, the Sr. Controls Engineer will be responsible for running projects, leading teams, and acting as a Project Engineer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in control system design and implementation
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems
• Strong Skills with AB ControlLogix and FactoryTalk a must.
• Must have Experience running System Integration Projects
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or EPLAN
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Experience in project management and supervising junior engineers is a plus
• Experience with Industrial Instrumentation

• Experience with the following preferable:
• Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE, FactoryTalk Historian, RSLogix 5000, Connected Components Workbench
• Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, and WinCC OA
• Schneider Electric Unity Pro, Vijeo Designer, GeoScada and Citect SCADA
• GE, iFIX
• VTSCADA experience a plus
