SR Controls Engineer, Thermal Management

Working with the Global Team Manager to set the course on software/hardware requirements, foundations up. Support the application software development team, with a focus on high level software topics. Pioneering the design of software architecture based on requirements and testing outcomes Evolve current coding, and documentation standards and encourage peers to adhere with these standards. Provide ongoing support and mentoring to technical team members Write quality unit tests and build up testing repository over time. Execute tasks that contribute to the overall roadmap for all software and hardware development related to Chiller controls offering. Develop plans to reduce and eliminate software bugs and faults through root cause analysis and rigorous testing. Perform prototyping, application tests and code reviews to ensure product quality. Work with customer service and quality analysis teams to optimize products and ensure products stay up-to-date and continue to satisfy customer needs. Support planning, engineering, programming, and commissioning of complex controls equipment through final buy-offs of equipment both in factory and in field, working together with service and production teams. Coordinate troubleshooting of high-level SW and HW issues, with development teams and appropriate methodology. Prepare training documents for maintenance and production teams, explaining the operation and troubleshooting of complex control systems. Design controls applications based on defined requirements and specifications Understand requirements for GUI/communication interface, networking and create specifications based on these requirements Troubleshoot issues with already existing systems Technical writing including Software Sequence of Operation (SOO) or technical specifications Requirement Reviews – Participate in reviews and work with Systems Engineering or Internal Stakeholders to ensure proper implementation of features Comply with the company safety procedures. Live the company culture of integrity and professional competence Provide timely and detailed status updates Quality – Ensure standards are maintained in a highly regulated, process driven environmentWhat will make you successful? Bachelor’s degree on a related field of study OR the equivalent combination of education and/or years of relevant work experience. Several years relevant project experience working with controls and automation equipment related to development, programming, debugging, as well as support and troubleshooting. Knowledge of Chillers and HVAC applications, proven experience with most common compressor’s technologies (Inverter but especially Centrifugal)   Knowledge of Programming Logic Controllers according to IEC 61131-3 standards or similar. Ideally, basic knowledge of other programming and scripting languages (C/C++, C#, Javascript, HTML), even academic. Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues Experience in prototype start-up/troubleshooting and laboratory validation MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy Knowledge/Awareness of software version-control systems (Git, GitHub, perforce).
