Job Summary:

  • This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual with a strong understanding of industrial control systems and a proven ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve production equipment. The Senior Controls Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the manufacturing facility.

Job Duties:

  • Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
    • Maintain and document all electrical and control systems.
    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and controls-related failures.
    • Coordinate and train Electro-Mechanics on all shifts.
    • Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance.
    • Oversee equipment breakdowns and ensure timely repairs.
  • System Maintenance:
    • Maintain plant secondary systems (steam, water, air, power, etc.).
    • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Project Involvement:
    • Participate in control system projects, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Control Systems: Strong understanding of control system principles, including PLC programming, HMI design, and network configurations.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in PLC programming software (Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi), HMI software, and preventative maintenance software.
  • Electrical/Mechanical Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving equipment issues.


Qualifications:

  • Education: AS/AAS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering , or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Practical experience in a related field, with a strong background in machine and electrical control systems.
  • Licenses: May require various licenses depending on location.
  • Communication & Coordination: Ability to effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders.
