Job Title: Sr. Engineer, Equipment
Reports to: Manager, Engineering Part
Locations: Lansing, MI

Summary
Equipment Engineer supports the breakdown of equipment, improve equipment for program and design to increase overall efficiency and productivity. Also providing education for controls with plant to distribute company base knowledge for company specific equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing OEE for frequency of breakdown and up time for daily production. Reporting on OEE (Micro stop, BM, and yield) and make plan for improvements (35% of time spent on this responsibility)
- Complete production work order for technology based and create design (example. PLC program based and redesign of line) and monitoring equipment running post improvement (30% of time spent on this responsibility)
- Researching new technology to be implemented in for production equipment (15% of time spent on this responsibility)
- Installation of new technology to line (example. Installation of lasers) (10% of time spent on this responsibility)
- Provide support to other engineers on tasks to include delegating work orders to equipment and controls engineers (10% of time spent on this responsibility)
- Training other engineers with shared responsibilities (including in their percentage of each responsibilities)
- Complete daily documentation and audits, as required by position
- Follow established work instructions
- Adhere to safety requirements at all times, including the use of proper PPE
- Maintain 5S and 3R standards
- Adhere to general, and position-specific, dress code requirements
- Participate in, and successfully complete, any and all training requirements
- Regular and reliable on-site attendance is required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering (mechanical or industrial or equivalent experience
- 7 plus Years’ Experience with equipment
Experience
- Installation, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, machines and other equipment
- Analyze equipment breakdown data
- Corrective actions
Skills
- Equipment designing programs 2D/3D
- Basic computer skills
- Work cross functionally
- Internal/External Customer Interaction
Physical
- Must be able to properly and regularly utilize the following PPE for a period of up to 12 hours
- Safety glasses
- Steel-toed shoes
- Must be able to do the following repeatedly for a period of up to 12 hours
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds
- Stoop, twist, bend
- Reach overhead
- Sit and/or stand
