JOB DESCRIPTION Job Role: Sr Engineer Reliability Job Role ID: SECTION I: BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT THE JOB ROLE Job Role Variant: Sr Engineer - Static Manager Job Position: Section Head Reliability Job Position ID: Value Stream: Asset Operations Job Family: Engineering Sub-Job Family: CES Grade/Level: Location: SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To conduct engineering & maintenance activities related to fixed equipment as per defined plan, highlight risks on time and suggesting corrective measures, with the objective of maximizing equipment availability, reliability and integrity SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE Responsibilities Policies, Processes and Procedures Conduct day to day activities & follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner Participate in periodic audit activities to identify gaps and ensure all equipment maintenance system adhere to group standards, incorporate best practices pertaining to static equipment Conduct procedures for repairs to fix equipment and associated appurtenances in accordance with codes, standards and RAGAGEPs Follow applicable HSEF procedures/ practices with awareness about environmental statutory regulations and safety protocols Implement energy conservation initiatives in order to support environmental sustainability efforts Keep self abreast with leading static maintenance practices & trends and contribute to the identification of continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures Coordinate with statutory authorities. Maintain all records supporting statutory compliance with respect to static equipment Undertake initiatives for trainings to enhance competencies and participation in training as per requirement Engineering & Maintenance Operations Assist plant maintenance in troubleshooting critical problems. Assist in repair and reconditioning of static equipment/components Provide inputs in planning for major shutdown activities and execution of major overhauls Evaluate QAPs for all spares /consumables being procured as a part of the maintenance / projects cell Review concession / deviation exercise for all pending inspection of equipment and ensure compliance to set procedure Prepare inspection reports, give recommendations and record history. Ensure all inspection records are updated in systems like SAP and Meridium Perform Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of repetitive failures and report findings. Apply the leanings from RCA to proactively increase the reliability of other assets Support in technical due diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions and modifications to ensure adherence to established guidelines Update corrosion manuals as applicable. Assist in developing RBI for the identified plants as per objective Update master data of the fixed equipment in SAP/Meridium. Liaise with planning section for updation as required Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Prepare preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance to the maintenance procedures Manage implementation of standard maintenance procedure and plant maintenance procedures in order to reduce plant failures Provide technical expertise pertaining to static equipment and maintenance to sub-ordinates Reliability Assurance Support in improving reliability through continuous improvement techniques/ up-gradation/ projects/ implementation of advance diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques Participate in tracking obsolescence of site static equipment; implement suggested renewal plan in order to minimize risk of operating on unsupported equipment Support reliability engineering applied to maintenance (REAM) functions with reliability standards in order to reduce production losses from defects/ failures/ breakdowns Provide support to assess reliability risks & implement suggested counter-measures to ensure asset failure prevention Provide inputs to standardize best practices specific to site static equipment and implement recommended measures Co-ordinate inter-departmental reliability assurance activities like TRIPOD, Plant interface meetings etc. document recommendations arising out of various activities SECTION IV: SUCCESS METRICS (TOP 3-5 KPI's) Time to resolution Throughput increase % reduction in obsolescence of critical equipment OEE (Overall equipment effectiveness) Reduction in unplanned shutdown Shutdown turn around time/ Mean time between failures Adherence to health & safety policies SECTION V: OPERATING NETWORK Internal: S&OR, Site Teams etc. External: Vendors, Auditors etc. SECTION VI: KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES Education Qualifications A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Metallurgical Engineering or a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) Valid certification in ASNT /ISNT Level II in at least two techniques MPI / UT / RT Experience (Must Have & Good to Have) 3-7 years of working experience in a refinery / petrochemical plants with at least 2 years managing the reliability, inspection and corrosion monitoring of fixed equipment Functional / Behavioural competencies required to execute the role Functional Competencies Knowledge on static equipment maintenance and repairs Knowledge of reliability principles Knowledge of construction of fixed equipment Knowledge of common design codes and standards Knowledge of basic maintenance systems and practices of refinery/petrochemical units Knowledge of materials, metallurgy and its application Ability to read and understand equipment engineering drawings, PFDs, P&IDs, piping Isometrics Behavioral Competencies N/A SECTION VII: CAREER MOVEMENTS Feeder Roles: Engineer Reliability Static/Engineer maintenance-Mechanical Possible Next Role Movement: Section Head Reliability - Static
