Sr. Human Resources Manager - Discovery Land Company
Key Responsibilities Ensure outstanding service focus by delivering value-add, best in class human resources support to employees and internal customers Support and coach managers and partner with project-level stakeholders and HR directors to address and resolve a wide variety of Employee Relations (ER) challenges and performance issues.Help implement the Employee Relations (ER) framework, including strategies and proposals to continuously drive improvements in ER practices within the organization based on trust, mutual respect, strong performance management, and accountability in support of the goals of the organization.Help implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote ER best practices throughout the organization.Maintains and revises HR policies, procedures, and practices to ensure compliance, enhance the workplace and promote the company culture.Provide day to day support for employees and managers on advisory HR matters in a timely and accurate way. This includes: Coaching and supporting managers as it pertains to performance management and professional developmentAssisting with employee issues, providing career guidance and mobility support to employees, liaising with employee relations and employment law as required,Assisting with immigration/relocation processes, supporting special projects Assisting with the annual year-end processes (performance evaluations, promotion, and compensation), etc. Assesses employment risk in coordination with HR leadership and Legal based on current regulatory landscape and anticipated changes.lead in addressing employee issues, complaints, and investigations working in partnership with other HR, Legal, and compliance related teams.Ensures cases are handled fairly, consistently, transparently, in a timely fashion, and in line with Discovery Land Co’s culture, policies, and applicable laws.Personally leads employee relations investigations, making recommendations on appropriate courses of action, matching investigation strategy to the complexity, risk, sensitivity, and confidentiality of the investigation.Counsels HR and business leaders on ER issues, trends and risks to foster sound business decisions.Analyze key HR metrics, identify areas of opportunity, and assist in developing related action plans. Design and quickly implement solutions that are aligned with our core values as we continue to grow. Proactively identify trends and suggest actions to reduce risk, provide proactive. guidance to managers that will ultimately improve the employee experience. Perform other misc. duties as backup – recruiting, onboarding, HRIS, benefits and payroll, etc. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business administration or related field is required. Minimum 8 years’ total experience in HR with a minimum of 4 years as a Senior Generalist / HR Business Partner, preferably in a guest-facing or specialty consumer retail / service environment. Experience in or oversight of talent acquisition and talent management is preferred. Understanding of the customer service/customer experience issues related to guest service business. Familiarity with employment laws a must; experience with laws in multiple US jurisdictions a plus. Spanish proficiency – written and verbal – is highly desirable. Preferred Skills and Qualifications PHR or SPHR Qualification is preferred. Excellent attention to detail in all things -- including but not limited to people analytics and metrics, service and process delivery, as well as HR and employee relations delivery Experience as a trusted advisor to business managers Strategic thinking capabilities – ability to assess situations in the context of business strategy – that translate into execution, action and results.
