Sr Manager, Prod Mgmt - Tech, Global Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP)

We are seeking a passionate, talented, and inventive individual to lead the Maintenance Automation Platform products and analytics team within the global Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) central team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the the technician experience across Amazon’s fulfillment network globally, and contribute to the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting-edge products, which enable RME to realize a Maintenance 4.0 vision. There is simply no other role, which offers an opportunity to both experiment and innovate, whilst rapidly deploying new products, and analytics solutions that impact the daily work of RME technicians and leaders across the globe. As the leader of the products and analytics team, you maintain a high performance bar for the team, mentoring and growing the product, UX, and analytics roles within your team. You ensure your team is keenly aware of the RME vision, and how this impacts MAP product and analytics strategies. You are excited to lead a global team based in India, Europe and the US, and you lead with empathy, setting the example on how to foster a healthy, sustainable work/life harmony. You create or improve mechanisms that help your leaders create an inclusive and safe environment for employees of all backgrounds. You actively champion the building of products and services to benefit those on the margins, proactively minimizing the ways products and services may perpetuate inequity. You are able to deliver fast, whilst ensuring outcomes align with strategic initiatives. Recognizing when one-way door decisions will require more discussion and analysis or when a quick decision can be made. The analytics team under your scope is at the forefront of tactical executive and regional level RME support, and you are able to exercise high judgement when a new request is received, ensuring your team knows how to build scalable and performant business analytics solutions. You stay abreast of relevant launches and innovations occurring both inside and outside the company and use that knowledge to inspire big ideas. You trust your team to innovate and deliver, verifying they are achieving intended outcomes. You define standards of excellence and drive your team(s) to adopt best practices. You establish and regularly review business, performance, and operational metrics. You create new workflows, processes, or practices to improve scale of delivery across the global RME organization. We’re looking for a leader who:- Is passionate about using the latest technology to solve maintenance problems, building digital products, in a global team.- Demonstrates an ability to work backwards from customers and with key stakeholders, e.g. to trade off addressable business opportunities against available resources. Experience in defining, evangelizing, and realizing the vision for a new product area.- Has a track record of innovation, initiating and proposing strategic product initiatives, and defining the vision for strategic technical products.- Has experience in compiling and effectively communicating business plans, technical proposals, and product roadmaps to stakeholders at all levels.This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the overall technical strategy for RME, leveraging digital technologies for Amazon, its customers, and the global business community. Key job responsibilitiesAs a Sr Manager, Product - Tech, in the Maintenance Automation Platform (MAP) team, you manage a core group of Product Manager - Technical, UX and Business Analytics roles. Your scope is global, and the products your team manages enable the Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team’s transition to a Maintenance 4.0 methodology. You operate across all functional verticals withing the Global RME Central organization, and your field RME stakeholders depend on you to deliver products that automate workflows, improve the technician experience, reduce cost, and improve safety. You work backwards from RME’s needs on the shop-floor, supporting your team to create a compelling vision for your products, and to create product strategies that solve complex business problems. You are responsible for ensuring the lifecycle of your team’s products is effectively managed, and you work independently with RME field and central leaders to ensure your team’s products are solving the right problems for the business, in-line with the vision and strategy of the global RME central organization. Your team’s product equirements are concise, with clear, measurable success criteria. You are an effective escalation point for your team, removing barriers to your team’s success without damaging relationships, making smart trade-offs without sacrificing quality, and driving appropriate schedules. You ensure your team is keeping your stakeholders up to date on the products under your scope, upcoming capabilities, and future plans. You independently represent the team, and are comfortable communicating with executives as well as with business and technical stakeholders.A day in the life- You are focused on ensuring RME leaders have access to relevant analytics solutions, and you will engage almost daily with executives and regional managers to deliver complex analytics solutions.- You provide escalation support to your product team, quickly identifying and resolving the barrier or addressing the hotly debated topic.- You proactively work to earn the trust of RME site teams and executives by learning what really matters to RME, and delivering without excessive iteration.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree- Experience in team management- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product- Experience with end to end product delivery- Experience in technical product management, program management or engineeringPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience delivering consumer software products and services in a high growth environment
