The Senior Materials Manager is responsible for the S&OP planning for Mark Andy Production Globally, also managing inventory and purchasing raw materials and other supplies for Mark Andy Chesterfield. Oversee the scheduling and logistics of incoming and outgoing materials to align with production schedules efficiently.
Develop forecasts and strategic plans to ensure capacity requirements align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Leads the SIOP process for Mark Andy, managing capacity planning to align internal requirements with customer demand and timelines.
- Responsible for improving supplier delivery performance and reducing material supply lead times. Develops and implements inventory stocking strategies to minimize product lead times and enhance efficiency.
- Oversees all materials, inventory, order releases, and shipments for Mark Andy and Rotoflex production planning. Ensures materials availability aligns with production schedules and inventory levels are optimized to avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Implements best practices and process improvements in materials management and warehousing operations at the Chesterfield location. Collaborates with the Global Strategic Sourcing team to enhance delivery reliability and overall performance metrics.
- Leads capacity planning activities to meet operational requirements, optimize manufacturing efficiency, and manage costs. Assesses current capacity and creates operational forecasts based on demand projections.
- Provides leadership, guidance, and effective communication to the Materials team. Coordinates with engineering, supplier partners, manufacturing, quality, and sales to analyze and improve purchased and manufactured products, focusing on cost and efficiency.
- Manages inventory levels for components and work-in-process inventory based on policies for inventory turns and working capital. Procures inventory items to support the Master Production Schedule and ensures on-time delivery.
- Develops and shares daily updates with manufacturing teams regarding component availability and the status of open and upcoming orders.
- Initiates lead-time reduction techniques with suppliers to improve response times, reduce costs, and streamline the supply chain.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Equivalent.
- 7 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing or Engineering Field.
- Prior Supervisory or management experience .
- APICS certification and/or general knowledge of flexographic printing processes and equipment would be a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work requires the use of PPE on the facility’s production floor
