To know more about us .Mission of the Role: As part of the Mechanical product architecture, you are responsible for developing the mechanical elements of the design that support the full module design.Key Objectives of this Role: Specifications to Architecture: Define the mechanical structures that are required to support the module needs that meet the customer specification, the cost targets, reliability targets and manufacturing. Define the difference elements of the design such that they can be partitioned to the various groups for detailed design. Support the request for quotation (RFQ) process by: Implement the mechanical architectures in the quotation phase. Generate the needed design document to show compliance for internal and external review. Present to internal and external customers the defence of the design in a technical forum. Meet with internal and external customers to understand and resolve potential technical issues. Leading technical product development by: Lead initial phase of the design as it transfers from quote phase to execution phase. Interface with customer and advanced engineering teams to understand current and future architectures, requirements, and technology needs. Participate in the on boarding of new technologies and suppliers. Establish engineering process complianceneeded to validate the design. Playing a lead role in technical and complex problem solving when design issues arise Key Performance Indicators:( KPIs that will be used to evaluate the performance of the individual in the role, including metrics related to team performance, financial performance, and customer satisfaction.) Key Year One Deliverables: (Metrics and outcomes that the individual will be expected to deliver in their first year.) Developing and securing approval basic module architecture and elements. Developing and securing approval of mechanical roadmap to support electrification roadmap. Providing quote support for the electrification pursuits. Qualification, Experience and Skills: Minimum five years of experience in automotive or avionic power electronics module design Some knowledge for the mechanical system design of vehicle charging system electronics or powertrain modules. An in-depth knowledge for the mechanical system design of power electronics system including inverters, On-Board chargers, DC/DC testing An in-depth knowledge of enclosure design, thermal management, structural design, sealing, interconnections, PCB, and material selection for in cabin and exterior of cabin environments Experience in designs using sheet metal, plastic moldings, extrusions, and castings including design for manufacturing reviews. Experience in quoting process, design and launch of high volume power electronics for mass production Experience in interacting with internal stakeholders and external customers at the OEM or Tier 1 level Experience in ASIL-D, DFMEA and other quality documents Failure analysis and testing experience Strong understanding of design for module level reliability Understanding of EMC/ESD and circuit design Experience in CAD systems (Catia Preferred) Experience in structural or thermal simulation tools (Preferred) Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering Key Behaviors: Visteon is a high-growth, fast-paced and entrepreneurially spirited company – and will only hire people who profile the same.
