Provide technical support and design guidance to the global mechanical engineering team during the development process. Drive implementation of new FEA techniques, processes, and train engineers on these methodologies. Your TeamThis position has no direct reports but mentoring and training of basic CAE techniques, methodology and processes may be required to the engineering development team members.What You Will DoAnalyze structural integrity of the designs in static and dynamic environments (vibrations, shock, random analysis, etc.) to ensure the designs meet customers specificationsPrepare CAD models for reliable meshingPerform Modal, Harmonic Response, Random Vibration, Transient and Fatigue analysesAssist mechanical engineers on running FEA analysis on their own 3D CAD modelsEnsure product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications and cost targetsPrepare technical reports and presentations per customer requirements, and for Harman management reviews, peers as necessaryProvide pre-program support with quick turn designs/samples and technical documentation as requiredExplain FEA analysis results to mechanical engineers along with participating in design reviews with customers and engineering peersAssisting in the realization of customer requirements and specifications (RFC, RFI, and RFQ), product test plans, and production processes as needed to ensure the development and manufacture of quality productsTechnical support for the industrialization of functional items in an international environmentAssist in the product conformance testing for environmental performance to automotive and customer requirementsHelp educate colleagues on more cost / energy efficient solutions that meet project timeline requirements & budgetWhat You NeedBachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar4+ years of prior experience in ANSYS, ABAQUS or similar simulation experienceFundamentals in mechanics of materials, physics and vibrationsMaster use and hands-on experience with CAD design tools – CATIA preferredInterpretation of simulation results and ability to properly discuss or present results to team members / customersFluent in English & Spanish (speaking, reading and writing)What is Nice to HaveMaster’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar7+ years of prior experience in ANSYS, ABAQUS or similarExpertise in mechanical development of automotive electronic products, and multimedia product experience is highly preferred1+ years of FloEFD FloTHERM or similar3+ years in MatlabMS Project & PowerPointWhat Makes You EligibleBe willing to travel up to 10%, domestically and international travel as neededAbility to work in a home / office hybrid environment in the Queretaro, MX areaSuccessfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employmentHARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
