L3Harris' Space and Airborne Systems seeks an Enterprise Space Vehicle Engineer to join our growing team. The person in this position will be serve as an Enterprise Space Vehicle Engineer across the Space Sector at L3Harris, responsible for the technical strategy, execution and mentoring of Space Vehicle Engineers. This includes all phases of the program lifecycle: Capture and Proposal, Program Execution and Operations. The Enterprise Space Vehicle Engineer will be responsible for leading teams of SV engineers through the product life cycle activities ranging from initial requirements and architectures, design and development, integration and test and operations. The role will include occasional direct support to Programs and Customers to ensure execution activities of all functional disciplines for existing portfolio programs and new pursuits.





Essential Functions:





Provide oversight and implement standardized Space Vehicle engineering activities for all phases of the program life cycle across multiple programs


Provide oversight and implement Space Vehicle processes for requirements derivation and flowdown across multiple programs


Provide oversight and implement guidelines for Space Vehicle trade studies, common analyses and integration techniques tailorable for each mission area


Mentor and train program Space Vehicle engineers


Review SV engineering work products for consistency


Support major technical reviews and failure investigations as an Independent Reviewer


Hold monthly working group meetings across program SV leads to share lessons learned, best practices, ongoing concerns/issues, and potential opportunities


Ensure engineering excellence on executing programs through consistent and repeatable Space Vehicle engineering activities across the Sector


Ability to travel as required





Qualifications:





Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience


Active TS/SCI security clearance


Experience leading large, diverse technical teams in executing space vehicle programs


Experience executing all phases of space vehicle programs (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR, etc)


Experience with system-level requirements verification including allocation, flowdown, analysis, testing, & demonstration


Experience leading systems engineering teams in executing/backlog programs


Experience managing/leveraging technical, cost and schedule requirements


Experience with Hardware/Software integration, testing, and troubleshooting


Experience in mentoring and growing technical staff





Additional Skills:





Familiarity with Digital Engineering and MBSE tools such as DOORs, CAMEO, CREO, JIRA


Familiarity with System-level performance analysis (e.g., image analysis, thermal analysis, structural analysis, end-to-end performance, reliability analysis)


Strong understanding in space vehicle design considerations in various orbital regimes: radiation, space charging, thermal, telecom, power, propulsion, disposal, etc.


Familiarity with top level mission analysis and trades such as conops, DITL, coverage maps, revisit rates, etc in support of mission formulation


Well versed in functions, responsibilities and interconnectivities between Space Segment, Ground Segment and Launch Segment


Accustomed to leading technical engagement with internal and external customers in formal presentations as well as informal table-top discussions


Experience with internal and external interface management





In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $153,500 - $285,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
