Job: Sr Systems Engineer

Location: Washington DC

Compensation: $120,00-$140,000 upon conversion

• Contract to Hire

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead and provide technical expertise in enterprise-wide infrastructure projects, including data centers, broadcast systems, and video production/ transmission technologies. This role requires deep experience in designing, maintaining, and supporting both on-premises and cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, design, and implement on-premises infrastructure and cloud solutions (AWS, GCP).
• Lead technical solutions for Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and third-party platforms.
• Develop high- and low-level design documentation for delivery and operational teams.
• Manage internal systems, COTS applications, databases, and virtual environments.
• Collaborate with business and technology teams, providing clear communication and instructions.
• Act as a Tier 3 resource, conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting.
• Create and deploy processes to prevent issues and ensure timely resolution.
• Architect next- Data Center network solutions with a focus on security, scalability, and performance.
• Supervise deployment of solutions across multiple US data centers.
• Deliver executive-level presentations on technical solutions.
• Work with third-party security products and provide operational deployment guidance.
• Identify and manage risks within assigned platforms and assist in automation and monitoring.
• Work in an Agile environment and support leadership and operations teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. or equivalent experience in IT/Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in multi-platform enterprise networks.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently or within a team.

Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience with VMware vSphere and Horizon, Office 365, Intune, and MS Defender.
• Expertise in AWS, GCP, SAN storage systems, and VMware infrastructure.
• Familiarity with Palo Alto, VMware NSX, Arista, Cisco networking gear.
• Experience in Windows infrastructure (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP) and security technologies.
• Strong experience with multi-factor authentication, SSO, and security architecture.
• Certifications like VCDX, VCAP, or VCP .
• Linux experience is a plus.
