We are seeking a seasoned Sr. VP, Market Risk Oversight to lead our independent review of the firm’s market risk and control framework. This critical role will involve assessing the effectiveness of risk management practices, identifying potential vulnerabilities, and ensuring adherence to global regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment and Oversight:
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of the firm’s market risk management framework, including policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of risk identification, measurement, and monitoring processes.
  • Assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay abreast of evolving global regulatory requirements, particularly those related to market risk.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Identify potential regulatory risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Risk Reporting and Analysis:
  • Analyze market risk data and trends to identify emerging risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and the board of directors.
  • Provide timely and insightful commentary on market risk issues.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Recruit and develop top talent to strengthen the oversight team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in market risk management, including a deep understanding of:
  • Market risk concepts and methodologies
  • Derivatives trading and valuation
  • Stress testing and scenario analysis
  • Counterparty risk management
• Any experience in the following areas: Market Risk Management, capital markets, Swap Dealer, Securities Finance, financial instruments, including fixed income, equities, and derivatives.
• Proven leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
