About the Role We Are Looking ForWe are now creating a new team and we look for an Engineering Manager / Technical Leader to help in creating and growing the team. The new colleague should demonstrate care for people and have a strong background in computer science and electronics with proven experience with C++, object programming and system architecture.The willingness to work in an international and multi-disciplinary environment are a must for this role.You will join a team in the domain of radars, developing complete features (on all components of the product), in order to promote your creativity through the implementation of new practices and introduction of technological and methodological innovations to prepare tomorrow’s airspace surveillance using surface radars.As an engineering manager you will be responsible for estimating, implementing, supporting, monitoring the team activities and reporting.Business travel to France (around Paris) will be required for transferring competencies and establishing friendly human relationships with our stakeholders.Technical Skills Required:Experience leading a team of at least 5 years and more than 10 years of experience in software development (in C, Ada or C++)Previous experience as software or solution architectAbility to document and coach colleagues on complex technical issues (presentations, wiki pages for products, pairing sessions with peers etc.)Contribute actively to communities (e.g. leadership of department) and implement leadership initiativesWillingness to discover the World of Surface Radars and SurveillanceScripting languages: Bash, Python, Perl etc.Familiar with Continuous Integration environments (e.g.: Jenkins)Knowledge of configuration and change management tools (e.g. JIRA)LinuxGitNice to have:Specification writing and specification management toolingEmbedded Software DevelopmentProject management (cost, quality, planning)Design PatternsArtifactorySonarQubeSignal/Radar ProcessingSoft SkillsRequired:Leadership skillsPresentation skillsOptimistic and can-do attitudeValues: Focus, Openness, Respect, Courage, CommitmentFluent in EnglishCollaborative attitudeDesire to grow on technical and personal levelsNice to have:FrenchYOUR CAREER AT THALESJoining Thales, you will integrate into a tight-knit team working in an international and friendly environment.
